With the mornings and evenings being that much cooler with the impending arrival of Autumn, it has been a wonderful week, at Pagham, with many fantastic sightings.
Tree Pipit, Redstarts and a Grasshopper Warbler have been perched in the Halsey’s Farm hedgerows.

While Yellow Wagtail, Wheatear, Whinchats and Grey Wagtail have all been spotted in the bushes behind Breach Pool and near Ferry Pool.

There have been Teal and Shelducks, Spotted Redshank, and Common Sandpipers making the most of Ferry Pool. In addition to several Cattle Egret around the livestock in Ferry Field.

A solitary Kingfisher has been skilfully fishing between the sluice and concrete pillars on Ferry Channel.

Spotted flycatchers have been found around Glebe Meadow behind the Church Norton hide.

A handsome Hobby has made an appearance at around the pools at Medmerry.

Not to mention an abundance of beautiful butterflies, darting dragonflies still about the reserve and the appearance of a wasp spider around the Discovery area.

Green and Wood Sandpipers, greenshank, ruff and Little Stint will certainly all begin to make appearances soon, as the Autumn season truly sets in.
