We need help with a litter pick!
At Medmerry there are parts of the reserve that are not accessed regularly and there has been a rubbish build up in some areas. This is an opportunity to access some parts of the reserve that the public don’t get access to.
At Church Norton we have specialized vegetated shingle where rare plants can grow such as Childing Pink and Yellow Horned poppy and want to keep the shingle areas of the nature reserve free from plastic.
Join us on either of these dates - meet other nice people and get your lungs pumped up with fresh air and enjoy the beauty of these habitats. Don’t forget your binoculars, you never know what you may spot?
Sacks and litter pickers will be provided (unfortunately, we can no longer provide gloves due to Covid restrictions), dress appropriately for the weather (with good shoes), bring yourself and loads of energy!
Long trousers are recommended to avoid tick bites and wellington boots required for the Medmerry litter pick.
RSPB and SC Johnson are working together to take action on the issue of marine plastics through a programme reaching over 300,000 people in 2019-2021. This work is possible due to their generous support.
