The new shelter in our Discovery Zone...

and Ferry Hide are very nearly complete and looking great...

Work has now started on the wheelchair friendly path that will link the Visitor Centre to the hide via the Discovery Zone, passing by the enlarged pond and shelter. The final part of construction will be the fencing which will commence once the path is complete and we are on track to open the area up again in time for spring.

Also this month contractors will be out on Ferry Field repairing the breach in the Ferry Pool bank. The work will restore water levels in Ferry Pool and Field enabling us to manage the site appropriately. Several of the field’s ditches and channels will also receive some restoration maintenance and minor re-profiling, affording better feeding opportunities for nesting lapwing, redshank and other waders and wildfowl.

With all the work coming to fruition, it makes an exciting prospect for the seasons ahead.
