It might be a traditionally quiet time of year for wildlife, but a visit last week was nonetheless rewarding. Aside from this bittern, which I saw twice for about 20 seconds each time, there were some young marsh harriers chasing after their parents with incessant 'feed me' cries, a family of bearded tits, a good sized flock of lapwing and still plenty of dragonflies. Well worth a visit!![](/resized-image/__size/320x240/__key/galleryfiles/00-00-05-49-98/3R9A9874_2D00_studio.jpg)
