Good afternoon. Spring is now upon us and the reserve’s event programme will begin soon. A total of four events will be taking place on the reserve during April and May. I therefore thought I would take this opportunity to give them a bit of a plug.
Two early morning Reedbed rambles are planned and here are the details:
Join one of the Ouse Fen Wardens, for a walk around the reedbeds to look at how the partnership between Hanson and the RSPB is working to create Ouse Fen nature reserve, Britain’s biggest reedbed, from a working sand and gravel quarry.
At this time of year, we will hopefully hear booming bitterns and see sky dancing marsh harriers.
Tea, coffee and a pastry at the end of the walk. Adults £15 (non-members) / Adults £12 (RSPB members) These walks is limited to 15 participants.
Please book via: http://bit.ly/ReedbedRambles;
They will take place on the following dates:

If you’d like to gain a special insight into what goes on behind the scenes on our reserves in the Cambridgeshire Fens and visit parts of the reserves which aren’t normally open to the public, then join us for a 4x4 wildlife safari.
As well as pointing out the wonderful wildlife that calls these reserves home at this time of year, your guide will also tell you about how we manage these reserves and what makes them so special for people and nature.
These safaris are limited to three people per safari, so please book soon if you would like to attend. Adults £30 (non-members) Adults £24 (RSPB members)
