A Wall Brown was by the second bench on the way to Sweeney veiwpoint, almost lost in amongst the Gatekeepers which it resembles in passing, especially when flitting over a bramble bush. So called for its' habit of basking on dry patches of mud or walls.

Now not as widespread as it once was, this rather beautiful butterfly has disappeared alarmingly from all but the coastal regions of the UK.

This is only the second one I've seen this year, the first being on the pathway running alongside the old comms. building on the 13th of May.

The North Kent Marshes are a very special area and worth preserving at all cost.
