Yesterday six of us attended a training session at RSPB Rainham to be instructed in the rules and protocols of dealing with young and vulnerable people we may encounter in whatever our roles may throw us in contact with, be they visitors, staff or volunteers.

Our Insructor was Julie (Jules) Foreman who expertly guided us through the complexities of current legislation etc.

So thank you to her and her team and the professionalism and good humour of my classmates.

From left to right, Nick (Blean), Guy (Recuiting), Will ( North Kent Marshes), Jules, Sam (Blean), and Katia (Pulborough Brooks).

So all in all a good mix and a recipe for a lively session!!!

Well done everybody and thank you to all for for making me welcome as 'just a volunteer'.

The North Kent Marshes are a very special area and worth preserving at all cost.
