Bird Ringing for Visitors:

Get hands-on with the experts

9am to 11am, Meet at the Brick Barn next to the main car park

RSPB Northward Hill, Bromhey Farm, Cooling, ME3 8DS

Have you ever fancied watching bird ringing in action? This is your opportunity to come along to a public ringing demonstration, led by BTO officer and long-standing RSPB volunteer Roger Kiddie.

Roger and his team of experts will show you birds up close and you can even help release them back into the wild. You will get to see the birds as they are examined, measured and weighed, learn about their migration patterns and even find out where birds already ringed have been before arriving here on the reserve.

The species will vary throughout the year, so return visits are recommended. Demonstrations are very popular, so to avoid disappointment please contact us in advance to reserve your places
