Shall I take a jacket or not? Too warm for a coat but it might rain; isn’t it frustrating? However, Nature doesn’t care and the flora, particularly, loves this type of weather. This is clearly demonstrated along Canal Meadow where a butterfly and bee seed mix was planted in the spring.

We did a bumblebee survey yesterday afternoon and, no, we didn’t get wet. We managed to record 6 different species with a total of 120 bumblebees. The majority recorded were workers (female) which are very easy to spot as they are the ones laden down with pollen. Part of our route goes along the bund by the canal which is still proving to be very popular with the bees as well as hoverflies:

The footpath itself is popular with some dragonflies:

The trail camera is still out and about hoping to catch something different. It was nice to catch a hedgehog on there (bit too fuzzy to put here); we thought with a couple of badger sets in the area we might not have any.

There has been lots of fox activity showing up and I did manage to catch this youngster.

As well as the usual badgers.

Catch up again soon.
