Are you a mummy?” one child asked me. “No” I replied, “I’m a FAIRY!

............... and that’s how my day started at Middleton Lakes.

With a nature crown on my head and a woodland fairy wand in my hand, nine budding fairies followed me into the ‘Enchanted Woodland’ to find a secret toadstool trail left behind by who other than the Middleton Fairies themselves.  (These enthusiastic fairies were all from a local girls Rainbow pack in Tamworth!)

The Rainbow fairies had a magical day making fabulous woodland wands from natural materials found in the enchanted woods, magic potions to ward off evil tree spirits and nature crowns.  The Rainbow fairies even wrote their own magical spells, which they cast at every evil tree spirit they spotted along the toadstool trail.

The Rainbow fairies even made some charming fairy homes out of natural materials found in the woods. The fairy homes the girls created were FANTATSIC – complete with swimming pools, bridges and even secret passageways! I think the Middleton Fairies will be very pleased with their new premium properties.

The girls had the most magical day and they all went skipping away back to their parents with nature crowns on their heads and waving their woodland wands. I could even hear them whispering stories of the Middleton Fairies and asking their parents if they believed in fairies too?

These Tamworth Rainbows were all part of our brand new “Enchanted Woodland Fairy Day” here at Middleton Lakes which has been designed for girls aged 5-7, so absolutely perfect for Rainbow and Brownie groups looking for a day trip that offers something that little bit different!

If you fancy building your own Fairy homes and warding off the evil tree spirits with your own magical spells why not give us a ring and book your Rainbow group onto our brand new, ‘Enchanted Woodland Fairy Day’ here at RSPB Middleton Lakes.

Beaver, cub or scout leader?  We also offer fun programmes for your groups too so pick up the phone – we would love to hear from you!
