The frost has come to Mersehead and it has been cold recently but the birds are still around and feeding on the grass and all the berries in the hedges. Our most recent highlights are a snow bunting on the beach and a sand martin outside the visitor centre. Here are the rest of the recent sightings

Visitor Centre- Sparrowhawk, chaffinch, greenfinch, teal, hen harrier, tree sparrow, great tit, blue tit, yellowhammer, rook, wigeon and barnacle geese

Bruiach Hide- scaup, goldeneye, whooper swan, snipe, lapwing, hen harrier, peregrine, fieldfare, barn owl, redwing, little grebe and shoveler

Media Hide- scaup, hen harrier, goldcrest, goldeneye, water rail, pintail, wigeon, teal, tufted duck, mallard, shelduck and greylag geese

Trails- merlin, snipe, great spotted woodpecker, hen harrier mistle thrush, magpie, curlew, bullfinch, long tailed tit

Beach- stonechat, sanderling, oystercatcher, ringed plover and raven

Other animals- fox, badger, roe deer, peacock butterfly, hare and otter
