On Sunday 15 June, Marine Drive will be closed from 7am to 11am from the Plough roundabout, Crossens to Weld Road, Southport due to the Southport Triathlon event.
Marshside Road and Hesketh Drive will remain open, with normal parking restrictions applying on these roads. So please refrain from parking on Marshside Road.
The reserve will be open as usual for pedestrians only though. There will be NO VEHICULAR ACCESS TO THE CAR PARK or Marine Drive until after 11am.
Why not use this road closure as an opportunity to explore the reserve on foot, free from the usual constant noise of traffic.
Please take care if visiting during this event as the cyclists using Marine Drive may be travelling in excess of 30mph.
