Have you got an eye for a photo? We’re calling all nature enthusiasts to help us showcase our beautiful reserve with their photography skills this summer. Whether you prefer your smartphone for a quick snap, or if you’ve got the latest in photographic kit, if you’re a dab hand at capturing the perfect shot we’d love to see your efforts entered in our annual photography competition.

With a variety of habitats from woodland to reedbeds and wildflower meadow, RSPB Lochwinnoch is a stunning place in which to take some truly beautiful photos. Whether you visit in the icy and snowy conditions of deepest winter, or the warm, balmy days of spring, there’s always something to inspire those with a passion for nature.

"Feet first!" by John Chapman, one of last year's winning pictures

Spring is a great time to visit the reserve as it’s buzzing with activity – birds are busy collecting nesting material and raising their hungry broods, the wildflower meadow is bursting into life, and bees and butterflies are taking full advantage of the sweet nectar hidden within.

If you’ve captured the essence of the reserve, observed some fascinating behaviour, or happen to have clicked the button at exactly the right moment, we’d love to see your pictures! Help us celebrate the wonder of nature on offer at RSPB Lochwinnoch by entering your best photos by Friday 14 July.

All entries will be on display in the RSPB Lochwinnoch visitor centre throughout August, giving the public the chance to vote for their favourites, and winners will be announced on Sunday 10th September.

To request an entry pack, pop into the visitor centre or email lochwinnoch@rspb.org.uk.
