To say this weather is getting a bit boring would be an understatement! Today was dominated yet again by cold northerly winds and rain - hardly early May weather.

The summer plumaged spotted redshank was still present on the low ground today along with at least 29 ringed plovers, although there was no sign of either the wood sandpiper or the pectoral sandpiper. At the north end of the reserve the group of eight dotterel were still showing well and have been joined by 22 golden plovers.

There were two female marsh harriers hunting over Mosstown fen this morning.
