Good afternoon your weekend starts right here with another award winning sightings blog.

It's been a fairly quiet week on the Loch with not so many chances to sneak off birding although the morning congregations of Pink Feet have been impressive with some fantastic lifts seen from the visitor centre. Tree Sparrow numbers are still looking good with 60 seen in the hedges towards Tower Pool hide and 8 or so Siskin have been mooching around the feeders so big up to the little guys. After a brief lull Lapwing numbers are up again to around 375 and there were sightings of a Jack Snipe and a Woodcock, the second in as many weeks, on the way to Tower Pool and a Little Grebe on the Loch.

The various Owls of Strathbeg have been a subject of interest this week with a move to finally get some video footage of our Barn Owl. Currently nothing to report on that front but with positive sightings of both a Short Eared and Tawney Owl over the past fortnight we're still optimistic.

It seems the saga of the odd-looking-white-goose- OhwowIthinkit'saSnowGoose has come to an end where after close analysis the final verdict is of a hybrid Snow Goose.

Oh and Andrew saw 6 Dunlin, yay for him (pic related).
