There is obviously something in the grass at Strathbeg this season as it has turned into a tale of woe.

Our topper as mentioned earlier lasted a poor ten minutes before packing up (still no news on its return!) and now softrack has broken down as well. It's alternator has gone - a simple task to replace normally just two bolts and three cables and off you go. But oh no not this year. The alternator bolts onto the water pump which is attached to the radiator. The alternator belts had fused to the water pump which in turn had fused to the radiator. So seven hours later the radiator with pump and alternator still attached is up at our local agricultural contractors  being seperated which they finally managed to do this morning. Jonathan the driver is now spending today putting it all back together! Who knows by Monday we may be able to start cutting again.

On the bird fron just one addition to the year list in the form of goldcrest - so at least one survived the harsh winter up here.
