All hands on deck today as we cleaned out the Big Shed to make room for our first ever Spring Craft Fair tomorrow. The local association of Buchan Crafters are bringing 14 stalls, from jam making to wood-carving and we've been donated a few trays of cupcakes by a local baker so there'll be something to keep you going throughout the day!
Stalls open at 10am, entry is free, all our stalls are undercover so you can keep dry if it rains, and if the weather's good there'll be pond-dipping as well.
We did briefly postpone our cleaning this morning to dash down to the south end of the loch where Tim, one of our regulars, had spotted both White-Tailed Eagles loafing in the dunes. Ben, our residential volunteer, has been on holiday for the past week, so this was his first chance to get the eagles in his scope. Luckily they both hung around long enough for us to get down there- Red Z (or N, we're still a little undecided on that!) sitting on a dune top, Red A bathing in Starnakeppie pool. They stayed on the deck for a while then both birds flew fairly lazily into the dunes. It's clearly still worth a visit to the south end viewpoint if you want to see them, but you do have to be patient as even an 8ft eagle can easily disappear in 30ft sand dunes.
