The title says it all. Although they weren't reported on site yesterday, they were seen in the vicinity. Today they were resting in front of the swamp hide, and easily seen, before flying over to the large ploughed field on the north side.
Shortly after watching them land in the field I swa one take a huge leap into the air - so graceful.
I have received a report of them courting yesterday afternoon too...watch this space.
I was fortunate enough to see the cranes this morning! I didn't think they would still be around or appear while I was there (that's what my luck is usually like!) but as I was looking through my bins for something that had landed the cranes swooped across right where I was looking and came into land! I was stunned! They stayed for a short while and then headed off, looking as if they had caught an updraft as they started circling high up into the sky and eventually disappeared from view.
Amazing!
