Well, here we are again at the start of a brand new year and, unsurprisingly, it's very similar to the end of the old year on the reserve.
This week, a pair of Short-eared Owls were seen on the 3rd, the  8th and again on the 9th. A European White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons) made an appearance on the 4th. Three Red Grouse were spotted on the top of Vane hill on the 5th. Two Redpolls visited the feeding station outside the Visitor's Centre on the 6th. A male Hen Harrier was again observed, on the 9th, with a female also being seen on St Serf's.
Unfortunately, White-tailed Eagle has not made it onto this years list so far, but there is still time!
