Apologies for the late blog. The weather condition on Saturday were weird to say the least, with mixtures of snow and sunshine. This didn't seem to put of the birds as many of them were still singing as I walked up the paths. We were making nest boxes on Saturday and as we did so a blue tit was looking for a suitable nesting place under the roof of the visitor centre. There were a few geese around the reserve along with an array of ducks on the loch including teal, wigeon, tufted duck and goldeneye. A few whooper swans were in the pools near the fist hide and many mute swans were using the loch. When I was up the hill I got a great view of a group of three roe deer feeding in the trees. I was also lucky enough to see a great grey shrike In Cleish, a wee bit of news from the local area. That's all for this week and I promise that I will post a blog next Saturday.
