After not seeing the sea eagle last week, I was rewarded today by seeing two sea eagles. We had great sightings of them flying and some lucky visitors saw them catching a duck. Staying on the raptor theme we have had a peregrine on St Serfs island, buzzards all over the reserve and a single kestrel hovering. There are a few of the usual suspects in the bay (tufted duck, teal, mallard, goldeneye and gooseander) along with a flock of whooper swans. Our feeders have been very busy all day with some lovely siskins visiting the window feeder in the shop.
This will be my last blog of 2011, so I think that it would be good to round off a FANTASTIC year with some of my highlights-
WHEATEARS APRIL
SPOTTED FLYCATCHER MAY
SCAUP MAY
AND A RINGED NECK DUCK.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all my loyal followers and I look forward to writting the blog next year.
Merry Christmas Lewis - thanks for the blogs, I enjoy reading them :-)
