Sorry for my delay in writing the blog, it was a busy weekend. Saturday was a great day for birds with many different raptors - kestrel, peregrine, sparrow hawk and buzzard were all seen on the reserve, with the two peregrines flying over the flood and a great sighting of a sparrow hawk hunting by the first hide. The numbers of geese on the reserve has really risen from last week with HUGE numbers of pink-footed geese coming off the roost in the morning- mixed in with them there were a few barnacle geese and two or three white fronted geese. Many different ducks are still in the bay with a lot of pintail and tufted ducks gliding over the water majestically. Our mystery diver was still on the loch with many of the birders thinking that it is a great nothern diver.

On the feeders at the back of the reserve there was a single brambling mixed in with all the regulars.

Next week I will have to make time to write the blog, so check this space next Saturday!
