Well it's been a long wait, but the moment has finally come - we have re-opened the 3rd hide.
The bridge has been on site since last Friday, just waiting to be slotted into place, and just yesterday Donnie the Digger and the team swung the bridge into the gap between the path and the hide. Come along and have a look for yourself.

Despite me trudging around noisily, this morning putting up fencing around the hide, around 100 curlew have been movning around the site and stopping to feed at the back of the flood. Yesterday the juvenile bar-tailed godwit that was seen on the north of the loch was wading around at Vane, both times was amongst curlew so it's worth keeping an eye out in bigger flocks.
A couple of ravens flew past the hide also, heading toward the crags to the south on Benarty Hill, making their distinctive call. Meanwhile the bay remains a popular spot for a whole host of wildfowl, with pinikes, teal and whoopers feeding in their hundreds.
Hopefully a little sunshine this weekend will bring the birds out to enjoy the new wetland and provide great views from all 3 hides.
