Oh my, another week. How many rosettes did Tweed win at the agility contest? Check Patriciat's late post on last week's blog to find out! Congratulations Tweed and Patriciat!
Good Friday Morning all! Sunny and minus 3. Usual bird activity – increased courting behaviours. Keep thinking of EJ somewhere on her journey – wish we knew where she goes then we could check out weather trail.
Alan – thanks for new Hummer cam – will try it out when it’s daylight there.
Annette – not sure I can return blind- ‘twas “made to measure”! Great that you heard the lady mention the film, and have tracked it down to Saturday – enjoy! Made chicken pie with leeks and mushrooms in last night – had a wonderfully successful lamb hot-pot the night before!
AQ – when people mention festivals, I momentarily wish I lived in the city, but other times I am glad I don’t! Used to enjoy theatres etc when we could just pop into Manchester, but was younger then! And oh the traffic in Glasgow or Edinburgh – and I find taxis difficult getting in and out – so all in all happy with my lot in the rural south-west! Would do your ironing, but can’t stand the heat! – pleased the current extreme heatwave is stopping at 2 days.
Diane – thanks for all the wonderful clips. How is the remodelling/decorating going? Do you still have snow on the ground? (sorry to ask so many questions)
Wishing good recoveries to Patriciat’s sister, Margobird, Hamish and all who are not feeling 100%.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Diane Thank you so much for the clips. I have followed the story of Pale Male and Lola since 2005 and of course Lincoln's photography is truly stunning. One day...when I get used to flying...I would love to visit Central Park and see the nest for myself. Who knows, perhaps even catch a glimpse of PM, Lola or Lincoln...though simply being there would be enough...

Good Morning All. Trying to snow here but not quite succeeding: cold & damp.
Got All Excited, reading through Annettes posts & the above discussions about Pale Male - so went straight to the Amazon site where if you put in a search of The Legend of Pale Male, you get an offer of a DVD produced in USA in 2003, called "Pale Male". It is only available through private sellars from US & costs from £7.30 plus postage, but some of them are not new. I've never done this sort of buying so am put off. Shall be travelling over to visit you, Annette! Get the couch ready, or I'll sleep on the floor, so I can go to the cinema with you soon. (would so love to see the film, as I'm sure lots of us would).
Lindybird - my worry about DVDs is not about online ordering across the pond, but about DVD regions which I don't understand.
Lindybird: I've ordered stuff from Amazon's private sellers, and I've never had any problem. However, if you buy a DVD from the U.S., you'll need a region-free, code-free, or all-region DVD player to play it. Don't know whether you have one. I confess that I don't know very much about all of that international techie stuff. UK is region 2 and US is region 1, so the coding is different -- a machine that is coded for one won't play the other. Will answer other posts later, must try to sleep. Ah...insomnia...

Hello Diane I can't thank you enough for those links to Pale Male and Lola. I go to the site every day to look at the stunning photos that Lincoln takes but to see them actually flying is just magical. What it does make me realise is what a noisy place they have chosen to live. Long may their story continue.
Have a good day.
Margobird
Thanks Alan for a link to another hummer web cam. I must admit I got very sad watching poor little Sassy yesterday afternoon when it became obvious she wanted feeding and there was no sign of Phoebe. I hope the rehab centre can help her and she will get her feathers and fly away free. I couldn't see whehter Phoebe did come back to the nest yesterday but it was heartbreaking to watch. Do you know what time of our day we would be able to see the nest?
Don't know what weather you have but it is slightly crazy here. Lots of heavy showers yesterday, hard frost overnight and we have just had hail stones which completely covered my back lawn. I notices the birds beat a very hasty exit when it started to come down. Sun is out again now. Have a good afternoon.
Lovely photo of the siskin Heron 77
Afternoon all fron TI,
First time on here today as I have been out and about.
Alicat: I am sorry that you cant access the owl cam. I tried to access it also but no go. I also tried clearing my cache to see if that worked but no good. They must have server problems at their end. It is still night time there so hopefully they will fix it later today.
Margobird: I think it will be daylight at the hummer nest about 2:30pm. Weather is sunny today but we had about 2 inches of snow overnight and the roads are a slushy mess. When is this winter going to end?
Thanks for all the clips, photos & chat. I have not had time to look in detail but will later.
Hamish had his post operative check and all is well and he is healing nicely. He has to go back for a final sign off next wednesday. Also went on a shopping mission to Tescos. Not a good idea on a friday at half term.
