Hi everyone.Remember to check the last few posts of last week's chat thread. A very happy new week to all.Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Good afternoon / morning / evening - whichever applies. Thanks Paul for starting us off on another ramble.
Tiger – Thanks for the Time Zone info – saved me a browse doing when I get time. We could have done with the world map years ago when we landed in Zurich after 30ish hours travelling, did our sums, and phoned daughter to say we had arrived safely. She was not exactly delighted to hear us as we had got our sums wrong and it was 2.30 am back home. LOL. Whoooo are you? Yoooooooou are gorgeous!
OG – Thanks for the furphy info. Hm, I’m getting slack – letting you & Tiger do the research.
Lindybird – We are having the opposite problem. I wear light clothes and then it is freezing (relatively) in the shops. They have the temp set too far below the outside temp. I know someone who has been taking a jacket & scarf on the hottest days because it is so cold in the library !!!!!!!!
Auntie - I would willingly trade some of our heat. Today is cooler but stickier. 25 C just now at 3.43 pm Sun afternoon.
Hi all. Thanks Heron for getting the new week going!
AQ: My step-sister in the UK always used to get the time difference between there and here - we'd get calls at 4:30 a.m. that started "What time is it there?!" Poor old dear never could figure it out. :-) Assume you're getting ready to watch the big match between Murray and Federer.
And in the UK, isn't there a big footie match with Manchester United coming up soon?
Everyone else have a good Sunday.
Hi, Annette: Hope you had a nice night out. I'm sure that Oro was glad to get home -- and little Shadow, too. Did you see on the old thread that I heard a lynx on the Estonia Cam 2. At least, I think I did... A loud growl/scream!
aquilareen: I am alternately cleaning my kitchen and reading a dictionary of Aussie slang. Very funny and engaging. Beware, I may have questions...
Tiger: On the old thread, I posted a thank you to you for the owl video. It was wonderful!
Happy Sunday everyone.
Diane I am so glad you enjoyed that video. The minute I saw it I thought of you.

Annette Yes it is Arsenal v Manchester United today. As you probably know it is one of the big grudge matched of the season.
I guess everyone's been watching tennis or counting birds. My 5 goldfinches turned up but only 6 blackbirds and only 2 bluetits and 2 coal tits and NO great tits...I know there are more than that. All 3 robins came in though ;))
Well done to Andy Murray for making Roger Federer play so well, you'll get him in an important match sometime, he can't go on forever!

Morning/Afternoon All.
Weather Report: Surprised to wake up to a white world this morning, it was not deep & is now beginning to melt away, but had covered everything. We also went to bed last night with a hard frost so its cold on the ground, & luckily the wind is only slight, as its a bitter wind.
Watched the Murray match, it started whilst we were still abed (OH brings me a cup of tea- bliss!) & then we had to try & do various chores with all the TVs on so as not to miss much: ended up watching for the last hour of the match, on the sofa, alternately crying out & shouting Oooooh! What a match it was. Murray can be proud of holding on so well, as Federer is certainly one of the best tennis players ever.
We went to visit the New Puppy in the family yesterday: She is with Husband's cousin & wife; they have 2 grown up children & 2 grandchildren, so there will be lots of cuddles for the new little one. For those of you who love dogs, here is what I photographed 1st:
Just a tail! as my 'old' digital camera is one which takes the picture a split second after you press the shutter..... Had to delete several like this in an attempt to catch the moment. Here is Meg:
She is still tiny, I suspect she was taken from the mother a little early. The vet says she is underweight for her age so they are giving her lots of puppy food. Here she is on the grass:
Afternoon everyone,
Lindybird : Thanks for the lovely pictures of Meg. Such a cutie. I just love puppies.
I saw the first part of the Murray match and I knew he would have to be on top form to beat Federer but it was not to be. Decided to go out and visited Huntingdon Garden & Leisure which was quite busy today. All the Christmas stuff has disappeared at last to be replaced by lots of garden furniture. Bought a few bits and pieces and then had some lunch before coming home. Not done the BGBW yet so I had better get on with it.
Weather is cold and less sunny today,
Temp 2.3c , Sunrise 07:43 , Sunset 16:44
Aaaaaaah, Lindybird, she is beautiful. I would spend my day just playing and cuddling her.
I watched the tennis but have to admit that Federer was playing a different level of tennis to Murray today. Just hated to see poor Murray crying, as he had given his all, but just shows how much he wanted to win. He was gracious enough to say that Federer was the better player. Just hope I see him at Wimbledon this year and he may even win then.
Our birds seem to have gone on holiday today. Hope things improve or our bird count will be pathetic.
Hi everyone. It's nice and sunny in these parts, although a bit cold. Probably best described as fresh. The bird baths were iced over this morning but it was easy enough to break the ice, so no kettles of boiling water needed.Done my BGBW count this morning. Not great numbers but must pay special mention to the robin that turned up just as I started the clock. Numbers were: Starling 9, house sparrow 9, robin 2, chaffinch 1, blackbird 1, blue tit 1, dunnock 1, collared dove 1. I have to mention the two jackdaws and the woodpigeon that turned up about half an hour after the count ended. Perhaps they were watching the tennis during the count. Speaking of which hard luck Andy Murray, I guess my avoidance tactics didn't work after all. Roger Federer is a phonomenal player though.Lindybird: Thanks for posting the puppy pictures. Meg is such a sweet looking dog.A very happy Sunday to all.Paul.
