How is the Orkney osprey getting on? I have a spy in Orkney.

Didn't realise you knew anything about Orkney - is there anywhere you _don't_ have useful connections?!
I assumed that bird has moved on long since - could even be the Devon one.

bird with apparent shotgun damage to left primaries near Long Hedge Pool then flew north TQ037924 (12:00)
A photo of this bird was subsequently posted on Birdguides - see here - and it appears it may still be around, if it's the same one reported in this thread

10/11 19:01 NORTHAMPTONSHIRE : Osprey, Stanford Reservoir [S]
one still yesterday (09/11)
The Northamptonshire bird is starting to make me think of the one which appeared in the Birds magazine a year or two back - it was still in the vicinity of The Lodge in late November. I wonder if it's the same one?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
That's an interesting thought Clare. I went over to The Lodge in the vague hope of seeing that bird, but sadly there was no sign. I think it had found a fishing pond so had a good sour e of food! I dont recall any reports of it returning the following year.

13/11 10:17 WATERFORD : Osprey, Waterford [S]
probable over Grange Heights area toward outer ring road this morning (09:15)
I hope it is a 'probable' rather than a 'positive'. Or that it took a SE'ly direction pdq.
Hopefully if it was - the winds are favourable today - coming from a North west direction and that it has moved.
