Golly Alan, Orkney is a long way from West Africa and we are to expect SW gales on Sun/Monday, which really won't help in migration. It's interesting that the Hayle Estuary bird is still with us. I must check to see when you first reported it.

Sheila there is a reference on the photographers website of one on 2/10/13.
Birdies LG DU update.
Also seems he has a problem with his sat nav to be in Orkney. I hope he rights himself
Tempo - this is likely to be a Scandinavian bird. So a bit late, and a bit far west, but not as badly off-course as all that. S/he is in a good spot for fishing at any rate - hope it doesn't linger too long, though!
Thanks MIKE. So it's had a good feed up before it heads further south! I would like to think it moved on soon, and if necessary had another rest in Spain!
