France , Landes : Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 Marais d'Orx (Générique) / Orx (40) 2 Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) [Yohann Montane ]
An observation by Didier Domec on 14th September at Ciboure (Pyrenées Atlantiques). From the photo HERE it looks like the Osprey has fishing line wrapped around it's leg. Lets hope it's not too serious.
Best wishes

That is a lovely shot. I can't see any fishing line though, only the osprey's black talons grasping the fish.

IMAGICAT
They look like black talons curling round the fish to me scylla.
Me too, CHLOE, but when really trying to find something I wondered about the line beside the jittery red blob I've inserted (really must learn about pics):
I took that to be the shadow line along the side of the osprey's tarsus. Your red squiggly bit is to the right of the 'knee'.
Well done, you've put my mind at rest, I thought the talons were wire & didn't see the fish!!Must get new glasses & find out how to blow up piccies on the site. Thankyou all.

Sorry ChloeB, what's YW?
Oh sorry, shouldn't abbreviate. It means you're welcome :)
