Alan, re the osprey seen at Arne on Monday 3rd June, there are 3 photos on the Arne RSPB page. One shows a white ring on the left leg, but not detailed enough to read it (curses!). I will post a query for the photographer, Mark Wright, in case he has a higher res version that gives the details. I'm sure he would have reported it, or the staff on site would have asked him.

LindyLou. It looks very like White 11 which had me thinking that osprey died if Africa. Of course it was White 11 with Darvic ring on right leg that died in Africa.
I thought that all British birds in the last three years had been given blue rings. Does this mean that this bird is an older one and what is it doing down here so late in the season?

Had a reply from the photographer of the osprey over Arne on Monday,
"Unfortunately these are already heavily cropped, hence the less than good quality. These were the closest ones.... " Oh well, had to try!
