Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
We have been discussing the "2K" sighting on Facebook. General feeling is that it is a case of mistaken identity - ring appears to be on the left leg, so a Scottish bird, and the bird in the photo is surely an adult.
