Alan. Nigel saw the Osprey at Weir Wood twice this morning. "and the Osprey was seen twice in four hours at 10.25 and 10.45. " From the SoS site. Looks like it may be having a stop over and feed up before moving on. This is a well stocked trout lake.

Rachel, we certainly get Ospreys there both in Spring and Autumn. I have to say I can't recall ever actually seeing a positive ID on a Rutland bird or indeed any other tagged/ringed bird. Nigel, who reported this one, is a top class birder and if, for example, there had been any sort of ring I'm sure he would have noted and mentioned it. I have e-mailed him to ask for a time in view of a bird seen in a previous report.

Rachel I think you may be thinking about a birdseen at Arlington reservoir which is a bit further south than Weir Wood.It was thought to be 24(10) a Blue ringed bird seen in June and mentioned in Tim's blog on 14/6. http://www.ospreys.org.uk/growing-up/
