Change over at Manton Bay. Mrs 5R flew in with a stick,5R left and she settles to incubate. Awful glare since early but water looked a lot calmer

Limpy's there now and has confirmed that there are definitely three eggs.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Tiger, Many thanks for the photo of the nest with four juveniles in it! I thought it would be a very rare to successfully rear four! Thankyou for that. It would be great if Rutland did indeed have four chicks.

It is often the same couples that rear four chicks. Millford Connecticut are probably the best at it. They have done it at least twice.
