Rutland Osprey Team off to Africa next week
5R getting a bit late now. Still no cause for concern.
It is a bit of a contrast with last year when all sorts of things were going on in the Manton Bay nest. I have a feeling that there will be no messing around this year.

Thanks for capture Alan. It is good to see Mrs 5R is catching fish and feeding herself up.
I know it is still early days but I do hope 5R appears soon. Out of curiousity, does anyone know the latest that 5R has returned?
Also has 00(09) been sighted lately? I wonder what she is up to?
5R returned 26/03/2010 and 27/03/2011.

Well the answer to that one is obviously June 11 2006 but I am sure that is not what you mean.
He was back on 19 March 2012
No doubt we could fill in the blanks of 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007
The new Rutland book should come in handy or indeed Keith Rogers if he is around.

Ah well that is two of the blanks filled already.
Thanks Alan and Tiger. Yes must try and find out. I think it is good to know a range opposed to just comparing with last year. And I suppose the weather too as as we see, it plays a major role.
Anytime at all now then. Thanks ALAN
Ah - so he was probably unusually early last year (not really surprising, given the much better weather). Definitely no need to worry about him yet, then.
He was around on 23 April 2007 so I assume he arrived around that time.
The problem is that he was not in the limelight I 2007, 2008 and 2009
I am around taking advantage of Free Airport Wi Fi - Latest I have is 27 March for 5R. I do have him intruding before he was a breeding male but not the arrival date.
In 2008 he had an artificial nest on Lax Hill but never attracted a mate but not sure of his return date that year.
Unless otherwise told the best I can give is 27 March.
