Kind regards, Ann
Ups and downs for the Swiss translocation projects. It seems that PR4 "Mouche" and her mate had one or more chicks in Eastern France, but none of them survived. Very sad.
F12 "Arthur" is doing well and seems well settled in a small nature reserve on Lake Bienne, only few kilometers from the release site. Following many sightings in the Swiss reporting platform ornitho.ch I could easily find him this Monday. Hope that, with a dozen of birds released every year, he will find a mate in future returns.
Some dated and recent updates on the Swiss reintroduction project.
2-year old female Plume (Blue F02) has been spotted in Germany.
2-year old male Arthur (Blue F12) is regularly seen near the release site. He doesn't seem to have started the migration yet, I see him reported in the same place this afternoon.
Of twelve birds released this year, Zeppelin (Blue F26) and Olympe (Blue F28) started the migration and have been spotted in Southern France.
Valerie
The Swiss reintroduction project built a nest platform in a small nature reserve on the shores of Lake Bienne. This was a favourite spot for Blue F12 Arthur, a male ringed as a chick in 2018 and released at the reintroduction site in Bellechasse. Arthur returned the last year and spent most of the summer there.
Thank You for the update Roberto. Nice to see you here. Cheers.

Good news from the Swiss project: all four birds that returned in 2020 are back again.

That is great news Roberto, and a bit closer to home for you to visit.
Did you see that Blue YD is making a claim on his natal nest?
