Hi All. Don't forget to check last page or so of previous week for all the latest! Granddaughter made excellent time to AZ - got there at 4 p.m. our time - an 8 hour ride with minimal (comparatively speaking) traffic through LA early this morning. Thunder received hysterical greeting from Pepito, tiny noisy companion who wondered where Thunder had gone but was much too noisy and excitable to bring along. Brought Oro home for successful visit after which I went on a hunt-and-scoop mission to clean up yard after two large dogs. Oh fun! Daughter and I watched Wallace and Gromit DVD (the "were-rabbit" one) - a hoot. OH and I just remembered we have tickets for Charlie Rose (PBS interviewer) this evening so have to hose myself down, prop open my eyelids and try to stay awake for another few hours. Why do these things start at 8 p.m.?!
Thanks Alan for reminder re Phoebe (keep reminding us since I'm so busy running and fetching); four big storms due this week with threat of flooding, high winds, power outages. Sounds like real weather!! TerryM: Will pass on gerbil story to hamster! Lindybird: All hankies put away now! :-) Congrats on the redecorating and dibnlib: I'm with you from now on - hire the folks who can do it in half the time (at four times the cost, yes, but....)
Off to comb hair and make self presentable. Have a nice Sunday all.
Alan That is a fantastic picture.

HilaryH said:Hi everybody I need help!! PLEASE 1. I am trying to leave messages on 'personal pages' but.......Add Comment..... section doesn't open. 2. How do I make text bold?? TISH Yes it is me Maureen (alias HilaryH)....it's a long story which I will tell you another time. Will be in touch as soon as I get help from my Osprey friends. Maureen XXXX
Hi Maureen. Lindybirds technique for bolding works fine but another way of bolding text is to type it first and then draw the cursor over the text you want to bold. Then hold down the control key and type b. This casuses the highlighted text to come out as bold.
Alan: What a wonderful picture of Phoebe feeding the babies! FAB!!!
I had one of those days that I will laugh about sometime in the future -- but not now! :-( Going to bed early. Will catch up with everyone tomorrow. :-)
Diane: Hope the day to laugh comes soon.
All quiet weather-wise here; more heavy rain tomorrow. Just did ironing while watching The Human Spark with Alan Alda; going to say hallo to visiting hamster for a bit before I fall into bed. Take care all!
Up early. OH took care of boiler drip through night – I missed one “call-out” completely, slept really well so couldn’t get back to sleep at 6am. Have emptied dishwasher, hard-boiled some eggs for salad, so now having a sit-down before he wakes.
Alan – thanks for capturing Phoebe’s feeding shot – amazing wee creatures.
AQ – pleased the weather will be a bit cooler for Dau#2’s cycle ride. I’m sure she’ll remember to drink plenty – after all, she has grown up in Australia so she knows the score where hot weather is concerned. You take care in the heat today – and try not to worry (but I do know what it is like!).
Diane – hope you got some good rest and will be laughing by the time you read this! Sorry Wednesday was not a good day for you.
Hilary/Maureen – another way to get your bold text would be to compose in Word, bold the characters you want, highlight all the text, right click on the passage, go to where you want to place it, right click again, left click Paste – sound more long-winded than it is when you actually do it! Hope you find something which works for you. I usually compose in Word so that I can check my spelling!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Diane so sorry you had such a bad day. Hoping today will be better for you. Life is tough at times but you will smile again.

Good morning Alan thanks for this lovely picture of Pheobe feeding her chicks. What a glorious little bird she is.
Had to defrost bird batch this morning as it was very cold overnight but we did miss the snow that some parts of the South had yesterday.
Good Morning Heron 77 hope you will soon start to feel better. Trouble is that the weather is so changeable. One minute freezing and then milder. Today the bird bath had ice on it and it just 1 degree whereas yesterday was quite mild at 7 degrees. I think all the birds have had such a tough time that they will eat anything they can find. The only way they will survive. Sadly I have just read that 70% of special birds will have perished during all that cold weather so it will take a few years for them to get back to strength.
Have a better day and keep warm.
