This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.
thank you so much alan and tiger for pointing this out. I go to cape verde end of october!! I wonder if I will see him :) maybe not, but its a nice thought. good news that he has made land after his flight over the ocean!
Elsewhere - though SWT haven't posted a blog today, their Google Earth file has just updated.
YD crossed to Morocco yesterday, and early this morning was by a lake west of Fes.
Blue 44 as at the 19th was still in the Landes, SW France, between Etang Blanc and Etang Noir. This means it could have been him, in the sighting on Faune-Aquitaine.
Thank you SUE! Shall open up GE and have a feast :-)
IMAGICAT
Look what I found, another update for today!
Nothing on 20th for Blue44 though. But I can't leave him out :-*

This is not a problem Scylla - the SWT ospreys have updates on alternate days.
SWT have now posted today's blog YD in Africa!
A thought about Blue 44 - his current stop, and his previous one at Hostens south of Bordeaux, are both at places where there is not just one lake, but a group of them. Is he using LOTL and its surroundings as a template for the ideal spot?
'Thanks Sue.
Great that they have made contact with a Ranger in the area where Blue 44 is stopping over who will keep a look out for Blue 44. Yet more links forged! Brilliant!
Interesting thoughts on the LOTL lookalike spot.
