N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.

Must say I am hoping and praying that he will be alright too, but reading Roy's update I am encouraged to think that he is OK.
Quote "He was resting close to the sea at a headland at 2000 – (2200GMT), and non GPS data for 0208GMT and 0406GMT this morning showed that he was alive. "
Hope we get an update soon..... talk about being impatient LOL....
Edited: Who says Osprey watching/following is easy eh!!! So many ups and downs!

Swedish osprey 57375 left on migration on 13.09.2012 and latest fix is in Northern Germany stopping over:
Hopefully yes Tiger that Morven does a Lady on him.
It's about 400 miles to the coast of Africa from the Cape Verde Islands. Surely the wind blew Stan off course a wee bit ?
Not sure Cirrus, it looked like he knew exactly where he was going. Here is a chart I did for him the other day. Roy did mention easterly winds, at that time, lets hope we get an update soon and that he is safe and well... Its such an amazing migration, not only is he fast, but to find the Cape Verde islands in all that ocean is so wonderful.
Mary GK: Now is the time, that people like me start coming up with all their pet theories, as to what, how, why, where, etc., etc. Watch this space!! ;o)

Yes, MARY, thank goodness he did! Deshar missed the Ascension Islands !! (in all that ocean!!! )
Of course, altitude could just have made the islands visible .- do we know how high Stan was flying?

He was fast because of all that ocean.
Tiger Signature
Tiger I like the idea of the osprey police arresting him and keeping him in custody for a few weeks. that made me laugh. :D and I like to laugh :)
Tiger you do make me laugh. I have an image of Stan climbing onto a podium to pose for pictures whilst collecting his medal :D
