Thanks for the link Tiger. Hadnt seen it before. What gorgeous photos.
Looks like AA8 to me. AA3 is Aigan (in details supplied to RD when she was photographed).

That was my problem Tiger, for the life of me I just can't make it out. But I also didnt notice an aerial from a back pack either, so maybe a sibling of Fearna?

Connie do you have connections with Bassenthwaite? It is just that last night someone in Spain in that region was offering to go and have a look for that osprey.

No I have no connections, I was looking as normal at the tracking of all the osperys and came across it, I did look through the last few pages of all tracking posts and could not find any reports on this.

I do believe that this person is actually in the area. They may well have made contact by now.

Another piece of the jigsaw slots into place: thanks, Tiger, HilaryJ & Lmac.
I have seen those photos before, but not made the connection. From other information on the Northshots blogs, Fearna is one of two probably female chicks at this nest (close to the Northshots base on or near Speyside), so this must be her sister (AA8) and dad (unringed). So Fearna presumably has either AA7 or (more likely?) AA9. That leaves just AA6 & whichever of AA7 & AA9 isn't Fearna's unaccounted for in this set.
There is another photo further down the same page showing a female with a fish - my reading of the accompanying blog is that this is probably the adult female from the same nest. The photo isn't clear, but ring looks as if it could be black 3E. There is no mention of local ospreys in the 2011 blogs, so I wonder if this is a new nest this year?
Its hard work keeping up with all these Ospreys, but the female may be new? I believe the nest that we believe Green DY used to occupy failed this year so no juveniles there, so Ospreys in the photos are from elsewhere in the area. Not Blue XD/Green J's offspring either or adults from their nest as we know them
I shall catch up tomorrow, I am just in from the garden after a whole day starting to repair a major water leak from my pond. Work starts again tomorrow 9am with two contractors. Presently exhausted!
