Not sure if you got "Life of Ospreys"? Well on page 80 Roy Dennis says:
"I have seen one in December, an immature reported beside the river at Grudie power station, Ross-shire, on 16 December 1980. We caught it in an emaciated condition standing on the edge of the river, the following day despite our best efforts it died"
I guess that is a case of a juvenile not migrating.

Thanks again for all the interesting info and pics.
Saw this on the blog
"The chick has also had to put up with more intruder activity near the nest and on Monday another osprey juvenile actually landed on the nest! This bird is probably one born on a nearby nest and was exploring the area- all juvenile ospreys have the distinctive pale feather edges so it was interesting to see the two side by side."
Unless I have missed something pages back..
Seems strange that none of us were around and able to capture the two side by side, that would be very interesting...
@Tiger... I wonder what 1980 weather conditions were, and if there is any similarity to this year??Just a thought!!!!
Our boy is on the nest......
And has flown as I was doing my post.....

Hi Badger, Laddie brings in a HUGE fish. Lewis is looking around as if there is an intruder about.

And now back with Laddie delivering a fish, mantles with it and then Laddie flies off. He still seems concerned and looks around calling. Waiting to get on with eating....
Lewis seems very alert.

Hi Sandra :-) He continues to eat on the left hand side at the moment.......
