Welcome ALL to a new week from chilly Adelaide (4.0 C min overnight here near the beach).
Oh they're off to Scotland. East Fortune wherever that is. Now I'll have to look that up. Watch out those of you up there they might pass over you in a few minutes!
TRISH - East Fortune is in East Lothian - not far from Haddington and inland from North Berwick. It is the Scottish Aviation Museum - an indoor/outdoor collection and very interesting. I think it was built to defend Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth - and I think might have housed a bomber squadron too - during WW2.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Going to try to get a reply drafted while soup finishes cooking. Been missing a bit lately – not been an easy week.
Heather – sorry your neighbour is being so trying – I think it’s time you spoke up, to her and her NoK! Pleased SiL’s visit was apparently pleasant, for the children.
Dibnlib – did you see Dolphins Thursday evening at Chanonry? Good that they are being seen in numbers in the Beauly Firth. I hope Dillon’s ear treatment was successful, without surgery. Lovely smiling pics on Thursday (Dog and Kitty, and Mouse!) Discovered when local paper came out that part of Kirtle Water where Noah was rescued was further up – near one of our Cream Tea villages! Missing the trips to Revack which we enjoyed when J lived up that way.
Brenda – belated congratulations on the Anniversary – and I hope you are “enjoying” (?) your weekend helping with the babysitting! Thanks for link to discussion re name of “Team GB” – something to do with sacrificing the truth to conform to expectations!
Annette – sorry things are piling up – do take care of yourself amid all that is going on!
AQ – thanks for the meal photos, and the Friday smiles.
Alan – have I really read you grass-cutting twice in one week? Sorry Lady P’s virus is still troubling her, and will be thinking of her on Thursday.
Starling – where did that gorgeous baby come from – have I missed something?
Emma – watched very little of the Ol*****s opening ceremony – theatrical, navel-gazing, tedious, but good in parts! The history was good, but the present day looked like a celebration of last year’s riots!
Trish – I hope Mia’s sample will be clear.
Lunch soon, then informal garden party at the manse if the weather holds out – already had minor showers this morning.
OG yes I looked it up. Looks like there's an air show there today. Vet nurse has phoned and sample clear so I'm really pleased about that.

TRISH - great news.
STARLING - Congratulations!
Thank you original goldfinch!
We haven't gone out - wind keeps blowing in clouds and the dark ones are dropping rain - not lasting long, but grass at garden party would be slippy, so staying home. Hopefully, OH will finish the changes to the telephone wiring.
OG Your weather sounds like ours, very variable from one minute to the next.
Morning all: Recorded the second half of the Olympics show (well, I think they'd reached "C" in the team parades) so will be watching the rest later. I didn't believe it was actually HMTQ in the Daniel Craig bit - I remember thinking "oh it's a look-alike" until I read about it this morning. Loved to see real docs and nurses dancing about in the NHS bit - brilliant - and again all those kiddies. I was impressed with the transformation from rural to Industrial Revolution - very well done and, again, all by volunteers.
dibnlib, did see the faintest smile at that point, but oh, I'd love it if she could have just broken out in a huge smile and look really pleased - just once - after the kiddies sang. Still, how many years has she been out there, being paraded about....poor old dear. Wonder what she would've been if not Queen...and she wouldn't have even been Queen, but for Wallace Simpson.
Alan: Re the cleaners - and they didn't even get to be on television!
Starling: Congratulations!! What a great adventure you're in for - grandkids are a true job (well, until they hit - oh - 14 or so). :-)) EDIT: Freudian slip? Meant to say "grandkids are a true JOY!" :-))
Trish2: Glad Mia is well - keep getting Mia's ailments confused with Dillon's. We take our big old truck to the DIY car wash coz it's too big for the automated ones, but otherwise we use the "drive through" ones where you sit in the car as you go through the tunnel. It's not the best job, but it beats paying $$$ to have it done by a crew that doesn't do anywhere near as good a job as I do.
Off to lunch with a couple of friends today; then home to putter in the garden and maybe take a nap in the hammock.
