Weekly Chat, Sunday, January 10, 2010

Happy Sunday all UK folks and Hi to those in the Eastern US and Down Under and, of course, Auntie in Finland.  Don't forget to check out the last posts from last week; I'll be back later to check on them myself!

  • Good morning Alan I hope you get some sun on Sunday it does look as though there will be a good chance of some brightness and hopefully it will cheer us all up after all the days that have been so grey, cold, snowy and wet.  Hope Thunderbird will feel a bit brighter too.

Thanks for the shot of the moose, what a magnificent animal.

  • Thanks for the picture Caerann showing how close the ospreys and peregrine nests are.  Should make for fascinating viewing for those people near enough to view both nests.  Lovely to see the blue sky as well soemthing that is in very short supply at the moment.  Have a good day.

  • Margobird thanks for the condolences. Margaret (OH aunt) lived near you in Wimborne so we did not see her but kept in contact through the year by card and letter. She actually died suddenly at home on Dec 14th but due to a difficulty with OH family we did not find out till a month later when they had to contact us to let us know tha OH was in the will. I would like to think she got our card before she died.

ALAN AND OG   thanks also for condolences.  Alan why on earth is Hamish depressed with an owner like you. Wish him well and let us know more please.

  • ALAN    See now that Hamish doesn't like rain.  Doesn't he know that like retrievers he should be an all weather dog?  Personally i think he has caught sight of that golden retriver calandar you bought when you couldn't get a spaniel one and feels a bit put out.LOL

  • Guess who thought it was Sunday morning!  (blush).

  • Have been struggling with the Day of the Week, ever since Christmas, when it all goes topsy turvey, Tiger!

My countdown clock says 68 days now so mine is about a day behind Tigers so we are getting there.

So looking forward to spring and the return of the ospreys.

    Weather:

    Overcast & Gloomy , Light Rain , Temp 3.9c , Wind SE 10.7mph , Sunrise 08:02 , Sunset 16:18

Yes Alan my clock says 67 and a bit days. I guess there will be a bit of scatter. I must make a list of EJ's return dates.

I would imagine EJ will think about heading north in just over a month from now.

I see that sunrise is getting earlier and sunset a whole lot later by now. About half an hour on the evenings wheras only a few minutes on the mornings.

It is unusual fo me to be confused about the day of the week. Still I obviously was earlier this morning.

LOL you are just proving yourself human my friend :)

  • HERON   Thanks for condolences.  Have just consoled ourselves by indulging in some very sweet cakes at Simpsons, our local garden centre. It is privately owned by a local man and not a nationwide chain, which is nice. It is doing very well and recently opened a very large extension. All the food is cooked freshly on the premises and they do a very nice roast and a particularly good lasagne among other things. If you are ever up this way I can highly recommend it.
