I have always felt that we should have a thread for EJ as well as Odin.
My countdown clock says that we might expect her to swoop into Loch Garten 76 days from now. I hjope it has warmed up by then.

My client is prepared to plead guilty to a lesser charge of having a 1 fish stand if the charge of dishonourable is withdawn - apologies - the unringed male is also recorded in www.osprey2005.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/LochGarten2004.pdf
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
In mitigation my client adds that the mating with the unringed male was unsuccessful.
Does your client admit to an adulterous charge then.
How many use that mitigation excuse. I will try that one.
Not sure my wife will accept that.
See this picture.
I think I know the gal but who is the chap?
I totally agree with what you say, CRinger. I have followed the ospreys at Loch Garten since the days of Olive and Ollie and was one of the first to suggest that EJ be called EJ rather than less appropriate names. This female was a victim in her early years. She stayed true to her first mate until it was impossible for her to do so. She had a subsequent relationship with the magnificent Henry - doomed to failure because of Henry's penchant for returning late. She has, at last, found Odin. They have had young and we have been lucky enough to have watched them grow and to have learned so much about these amazing birds. Let's hope for a safe return for Odin so that their potential is well and truly fulfilled.
TIGER - Are you witness for the Prosecution or Defence
Chloe was my star prosecution evidence from her pages.
I think that 2005 is a lot more interesting than 2004. Poor old Henry came back looking as if he had been in a war and he found that his good wife had been associating with at least two males males, probably more.
TIGER is one Green 7B ?
No, she will not admit to a charge of adultery. Firstly adultery realtes to civil proceedings and is not a criminal offence. I hope this has taken a weight of your mind Keith. In any event, if it were she would plead both desertion - OVS was absent more than he was present 'at home,' and in addition - unreasonable behaviour - he would eat the lions share of whatever fish he brought back. If 'ineptitude of a spouse' was a ground she would plead this as well - he was certainly pretty useless that year. So, she was starving and was tempted into an (unsuccessful) 1 fish stand and throws herself at the mercy of the forum. Dishonourable, never, a victim of circumstance that yielded to ONE moment of temptation - yes. Members of the forum, I ask you - who here has not been in dire straights, and at the end of their tether given in to temptation and accepted 'any ship in a storm.' Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I dare you to return to this room after your deliberations, look EJ in the eye and deliver a verdict of dishonourable. Surely - what we are all saying is this - in desprate need of food - there but for the Grace of God go I. Members of the forum jury I am happy to leave the decision in your hands. The burden of proof is that before you can convict EJ of being dishonourable you must be certain of her guilt. If there is one small doubt in your mind then you must acquit. I hope she can leave this room without a stain on her character, and just an unhappy memory of a (failed) 1 fish stand. I have nothing further to add. I trust you will do your duty and acquit.
Which way you voting Keith?
