Hi all: Here's to a problem-free week on the site. Check out the last week's final page or so for updates from everyone, including one from Maureen (HillaryH) who's back with us after a hospital stay due to a chest infection and wants directions to Google Earth. Maureen - assume you downloaded GE before? If not, just go to http://earth.google.com/ and click on the Download Google Earth 5 button at right. I can't remember right now how to load Rothes and Mallachie's route; perhaps someone else will let you know if you need additional info. Glad you're back!
Alan posted a hummingbird link (http://vimeo.com/hummingbirds#8409299) for those who missed it and the week's chat ended with a long post from OG, who'd been composing it for days but was unable to get it on the site due to the techy problems! And no OG, haven't attempted the printer-wireless problem yet; can only handle one techy problem at week it seems!!
Have a nice Sunday all. Let's see if this posts
It looks very cold at Nauvo today. Hard to believe that the ospreys are due back here in 92 days.

Weather news for the LG general area. However, Surrey is hovering above zero, today has been clear, sunny and quite warm in the sunshine, very cold in the shade though.
"Snow gates closed
The weather caused snow gate closures on the A939 at Cock Bridge and Tomintoul.
Forecasters say the region will be hit by more snow over the next few days. Temperatures will remain below freezing in most of Grampian, with Aberdeen expecting a temperature low of minus 1 C tonight, while the mercury will plummet to minus 9 in Braemar.
Buckie will fare slightly better with some bright periods expected today and temperatures expected to reach the heady heights of 3 C.
Orkney and Shetland saw further sleet and snow showers yesterday, while north-easterly winds made it bitterly cold in Shetland.
Meanwhile, the Met Office issued a weather advisory warning for Grampian, Highland and Islands and Orkney and Shetland saying heavy snowfalls are expected during Tuesday and Wednesday."

When we were children the Sunday Post was delivered every Sunday and it has hardly changed over the years.

Is this actually sea which has frozen - or is it a lake do we know?
Son has phoned - his two and a half hour journey took him four hours. Two minor incidents, but nothing wrong with him or car.
Lighter evenings now very noticeable here - but starting to freeze again with dusk now.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks, Alan, for hummingbird egg link - hope it's a bit lighter when she lays next egg! Thanks too Annette for pointing us to snowy stork nest. Page seems to have been ok all day today - hope it lasts. Had Pete's Pond running most of the day - amazing mix of animals - surpised how close the different species get at times!
Hi all
Strugling to keep up with all the goings on but hope everyone is well
Tiger, that looks very wintery!
OG, glad your son got back safe and sound.
Still cold and windy here, staying put today!
jsb : We also had The Sunday Post delivered each sunday and I agree it has hardly changed. We also had The Peoples Friend.
The excellent Swedish detective series Wallander with Kenneth Branagh returns tonight at 9.00 pm on BBC 1.
Love the Wallander series - we'll have to wait for it though.
Weather sounds grim there; hope everyone stays safe on those roads.
Hi all. Glad that site seems to work ok. Weather here: morning it was -24C (!) allmost clear sky and lightly snowing, now it is -12C and snowing heavily.
OG, It is sea in that Nauvo nest pic which Tiger send and the sea has started to freeze over
Alan, I just love Wallander books, but haven`t seen those Branagh versions yet. Bet they are good.
Got to go, back tomorrow. Take care all and stay safe

Hi, all.
Just wanted to say that I'm sorry about the winter storms in Scotland and the rest of the UK. I hope that you all have plenty of food and supplies. And I hope that everyone who must go out stays safe!!! Auntie: That weather in Finland looks brutal! Stay safe!!! We don't have too much snow, but it's -17C/2F this morning. We left our faucets dripping last night so that the pipes wouldn't freeze.
Maureen, good to see you back! I'm sorry about your recent hospitalization. I hope you go from strength to strength now.
I'm glad that the site seems to have returned to normal. A big thank you to the RSPB techy staff for their repair work!!!
