Good afternoon everyone
I haven't been able to get on here all morning - site still very iffy :((
We've had snow, sleet, rain and high winds today so far .. but the lying snow is thawing. More heavy snow forecast over the next few days ... <sob sob>
Diane in Indiana - I am recovered from my heavy cold thank you!
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Afternoon all from TI,
Auntie : Its hard to imagine -20c. It is bad enough when it is -2c here.
Djoans : We have also had a mixture of snow , sleet and rain. Fortunately no lying snow here but the roads are wet and will probably be icy after dark.
This morning I dropped Lady P off at her daughters and on the way we saw a Red Kite soaring above the trees near the village.
Weather : Overcast and gloomy , Temp 0.9c , Sunrise 08:10 , Sunset 15:58.
Another interesting site with Tsunami alerts:

Quick, before it goes again...
Thanks Chloe, lovely moon pic.
OG, congrats to OH... hope it's as good as you remember!

Forgot in my hurry, Happy New Year (couldn't get on before, sorry it's late).
We had a pair of redpolls yesterday and two long tailed tits today. The LTTs usually come in a batch of about 12, but the rest are not here yet.
Eggcellent news. Phoebe has laid her first egg.

Morning all; at 6:30 a.m. here, sky is just lightening up at horizon. That stork cam is great; too bad it's not streaming video. What a view those birds have of all the goings on. I see site is still being pesky.
Lindybird: What a lovely story about Dietmar Germany - thank you.
OG: Have found extra wire wrapped around ceiling-level picture so will unravel and lower at some point. How long is son staying?
Alan: Thanks for news re Phoebe!
Egg laying 1hour 17 mins into this clip:

AlanP can you see the pic on that video? I've been trying for a while now, since I saw the egg on the live cam, it says it's running but there's just a black screen. Some of the bloggers were saying the same but I don't know what the answer was.
Thanks for that Alan ... screen is black until just before egg-laying ... it must be night-time. I just clicked along the line until I got near the time.
Terry M : When the video starts it is still dark in California. You have to move it on to about 1:17 and it is just daylight enough to see the egg being laid. Well worth it. Fascinating.
HUMMINGBIRDS ARE GO!!!
