Weekly Chat, Sunday December 27 2009

Hi everyone.

Welcome to the final weekly chat of 2009.  Remember to check out the last few posts of last week's chat for the latest posts.

Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Remember seeing Mum warthog playing with her babies when we were on safari in Kenya. They are not the prettiest of animals but seeing them like that, suddenly they didn't look ugly at all

  • Just been told that it wont be long after Phoebe finishes her nest that she will lay again. She still has quite a bit of work to do on nest. Maybe lay in a week or so.

  • one final piccie of Culloden Forest -honestly- this one was taken on Xmas Day about 1000 and you can see the sun streaming through the trees

  • Lovely pic, dibnlib, what a nice walk you had. we went down to the Solway today and walked along the sand.    I waved to OG, don't know if she saw me...  Thawing here today but there is still a layer of ice to go.

  • Hello Blackbird and thanks for your good wishes and the same to you.

Very seasonal pic Dibnlib. Nice when the snow first falls but had enough of the slush and ice here.

  • TerrM: I lived in Watford and worked at Nash Mills, Kings Langley before I emigrated; my cousin lives in Hemel now.  So Phoebe is scavenging other nests? Naughty bird!

dibnlib: What a lovely photo - so peaceful looking you can almost hear the silence.

    Blackbird: Hallo to you too.

Can't believe I'm still in my nightie, watched Tender Trap on Turner Classic channel and browsed recipes. May go for walk later, but then again, maybe a lazy day isn't so bad.

  • Hello Blackbird and the same to you.

Careann, let me know what you think of the film. The trailers look quiet good but they can be misleading.

Enjoyed all the chat/pictures etc, thanks. Lovely Dibnlib.

Annette, you deserve a restful day.

Still mild here , and what with the rain overnight, the 6 inches of snow we had on the ground has now gone!

  • What I gather with the txtspk, Phoebe is scavenging her previous nest and this one is new - I think???

    Terry in Cumbria

  • Caerann – hope you and sister and b-in-l safely met up and enjoyed the film, and that going out will not set back your recovery – watch out for ice under that fresh snow!

Annette – like your theory about what happened to murdered shepherd!!  Know how you feel about looking for variety in meals – we do eat some red meat but try to keep cutting it down.  We eat veggie at least one day a week, but that so often involves cheese, which we should only eat a little of – if only someone would find a new food – but not soya or tofu!!!  In your nightie – so not rushing or whizzing today, then?  Seriously, I hope you really enjoy your lazy day.  How is daughter?  Did she have her op before Christmas?

Dibnlib – lovely picture of your Christmas Day walk in the forest – thanks.  Wish I could get out but daren’t risk it yet.

TerryM – sorry, I wasn’t down on the shore to wave back, but appreciated the thought.  Actually, from your mention of the dock, I wonder if you are further west than us – only dock I know is Silloth, and we are in Annan.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
