Lindybird, your poem is lovely. Everyone is so talented! I can't even get a picture to upload tonight, but will try again. If it works, it's Happy Christmas to all from Tweed and Indy.
It worked Patriciat. How lovely. Thank you Tweed and Indy.
Butter wouldn't mealt....
What a difference a day (or rather, a night) makes. Woke this morn to slightly wet paths, 21 C, 79% humidity. Patriciat, Alan, Lindybird – I can’t imagine the cold weather & snow you are having. TerryM - I expect sis-in-law will produce the choc cream pie as it is a tradition. If the mini pudds are a failure, I shall have fruit salad as reserve. Margobird – I hope you recover from you cold & sore throat quickly. Not good to feel miserable when everyone is celebrating. Annette – The "helpers" in the shops are placed at the entrance mainly to intercept those who set off the electronic anti-stealing devices. Spider octets. Ha Ha. I met an old lady once who said she didn’t worry about spider webs at Xmas – she just sprayed them with glitter. OG – Better to be safe than sorry. I hope you get away. Lindybird – Lovely poem. I like the way it draws together all our twaddle.
I have picked our first tomato of the season – only the second year I have managed this amazing deed before Xmas. Unfortunately it was small and had been nibbled. It doesn’t look like birds, so Lizarda the skink is prime suspect. She hasn’t been seen for months. Too hot, I guess.
'Tis Christmas Eve morning here. I’m planning an early assault on the shops for fruit, veg & perishables and then home for last preps. I’m planning Midnight Mass tonight, so it will be a long day (I woke before 6 am <sigh>). My usual church has a an outdoor MM. With light rain possible, I am going to next parish (advantages of living in metro area). Last year the latter parish suggested they hold the MM at 10 pm. This even tho’ they have a children’s at 6.30 pm. There must have been some outcry as I am pleased to see the correct time still. There is something magical about the midnight hour, stars glittering in the sky, carols drifting on the breeze. (Perhaps I haven’t grown up?)
