Sponsored Cycle... LG to RW

Lets see if we can come together and raise a bit of money for the Osprey Centre.

I am making an appeal to all of you Osprey lovers.  I have read that the LG community is over 600 strong, lets say that there are 150/200 active posters or lurkers.. if everyone donated say £10. I'd imagine that the centre would be able to put £1500/£2000 to very good use.

On the 23rd April I will be setting off from Loch Garten on my bike, just me my gear and my bike no support or following vehicle, and on the Sunday after that is the 29th April I will roll into Rutland Water.(possibly right into Rutland Water..lol). I'm still putting finishing touches to my route and will post it as soon as it is done.

So come on folks, as a well known supermarket would say "every little helps".

Here is the Link to the Just Giving Page I have set up..

Looking forward to following you on your mammoth cycle BlackJag, its an honourable thing to do, to try and raise money for The LG Osprey Centre, so I hope that all these "Osprey lovers" will back you and give a little, no matter how small, it all helps.

I do hope that LG advises us what they intend to do with the money.

    Thanks Mary GK,

I will be intouch with Richard at the centre to find out what the plan would be.. it does I suppose depend on how much can be raised.

Let's say we managed to hit £100..and that would be great, (we are almost there already, thank you), there's not however very much that would do but it would be welcome.. £1000 would be fantastic and I'm sure they would find a good use for it.

All for one and one for all.

    I totally agree with that.

Hmmmm (For Instance) I wonder how much an HD Camera would cost (does anyone know)...?

A great Idea that Mary GK, and something I think we would all love to be seeing on the nest.

I'm not sure of the technical issues of that though but something to think about.

All for one and one for all.

  • Jag  That remonds me of a story of someone going to confession and saying they stole a rope. The priest said "That does not sound too bad"...what was on the end of the rope?

Answer    A pig    Oh now it becomes much worse.

Well the rope is the HD camera but the pig is BANDWIDTH.
