Well it has been one of those worrying days again. It started out fine with both Odin and EJ seemingly enjoying their reunion.
Then sometime during the morning it was noticed that EJ was no longer on the nest. This was not worrying to begin with but as the hours passed it certainly concerned the viewers on here.
The weather at Loch Garten has been generally foul today and has become even worse tonight with snow falling.
So is there a problem or not? Personally I do not think so as ospreys have been known to go walkies before (well maybe they flying equivalent of walkies whatever that is).
In 2005 EJ went AWOL for a whole nine days. It was thought that she was sulking because Henry had smashed her eggs.
I guess viewers will be tuning in at first light to see if she has returned.
Anyway I think it is a bit too early to panic!

The Carnyx cam is back and today it has modifications.
I noticed a couple of days ago that it had a pop-out option - it wasn't good for my video purposes because it was rather big, wouldn't reduce and keep the full picture, and therefore heavy on resources, editing was much slower.
The RSPB site's screen is a different matter - super because it doesn't have progress bar etc underneath to make my timeline look untidy. I've never "used" it before but am now doing so.
Regarding the reproaches from Richard - one person was "cross" on here yesterday and one person got carried away in the blog comments. In view of recent events it is understandable that we are anxious and excited, we should not all be tarred with the same brush.
Onwards and upwards! :-)

I might save the above picture for my Christmas cards LOL
Don't speak too soon Badger, there are problems with the video nestcam now :-( Vertical bands scrolling across the screen, although the picture is still visible. Definitely looks like a hardware rather than software problem though....

Good idea, Patily! :-)
Snow definitely melting; you can almost see the feeder on the feeder cam LOL
Corvids making a noise in the background, but nothing to be seen.

Shall I post this in the blog comments to alert Richard? (Not that he can have time to keep popping in there, surely?)
I spotted that a few moments ago. Seems to be fine now.
Perhaps that crow nearby is messing with it ;-)
