Well it has been one of those worrying days again. It started out fine with both Odin and EJ seemingly enjoying their reunion.
Then sometime during the morning it was noticed that EJ was no longer on the nest. This was not worrying to begin with but as the hours passed it certainly concerned the viewers on here.
The weather at Loch Garten has been generally foul today and has become even worse tonight with snow falling.
So is there a problem or not? Personally I do not think so as ospreys have been known to go walkies before (well maybe they flying equivalent of walkies whatever that is).
In 2005 EJ went AWOL for a whole nine days. It was thought that she was sulking because Henry had smashed her eggs.
I guess viewers will be tuning in at first light to see if she has returned.
Anyway I think it is a bit too early to panic!

Thank you for those links Tiger they will be very useful
I hope EJ isn't ready for laying any eggs yet., wonder who has decided to brave the snow and making sure the nest is still safe.
The more you rush, the longer it takes
I get all fingers and thumbs ;-)
Oh, is there too much white? Is it Odin?
Head looks quite dark. As long as somebody spots her today I am a happy girl. Huge thanks in advance today for all those that are capturing photos, videos etc - it means so much to those of us who are working and may not always show our appreciation. I can only speak for myself but I would be lost without you all keeping track so thank you. I hope Mary comes back today too.
I think it's EJ, see freckled throat.
I'm not sure SCYLLA ... but a great video ... thanks!

scylla That is a great video but I do not think that is EJ I did not see any rings at all. Also I thought it was too white under the left wing.
Just say what you see.
On second thoughts see this capture
It reminds me. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Missed that - was out of the room. Just the footprints left in the snow, to tantalise....
