Well it has been one of those worrying days again. It started out fine with both Odin and EJ seemingly enjoying their reunion.
Then sometime during the morning it was noticed that EJ was no longer on the nest. This was not worrying to begin with but as the hours passed it certainly concerned the viewers on here.
The weather at Loch Garten has been generally foul today and has become even worse tonight with snow falling.
So is there a problem or not? Personally I do not think so as ospreys have been known to go walkies before (well maybe they flying equivalent of walkies whatever that is).
In 2005 EJ went AWOL for a whole nine days. It was thought that she was sulking because Henry had smashed her eggs.
I guess viewers will be tuning in at first light to see if she has returned.
Anyway I think it is a bit too early to panic!

Thanks for starting the new thread, Tiger.
Really hope this horrible weather at LG vanishes quickly but sadly tempratures are quite low for the next few days.

I notice the wind is forecast to be relatively low, so at least we won't have blizzards I suppose

and this is the nest right now:
Not very appealing!
Thanks Tiger, excellent resume. I too hope EJ is back on the nest in the morning and that this snow doesn't last long.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Thanks Tiger. Hi there Heron and Robert!
I'll be back later, but have the funny feeling there won't be much to see. :-(
Ugh! RtB, horrible isn't it? I hope we will be able to see the nest when it gets light.
Hi Annette, no I don't think there will be!
The weather forecast is for the snow to continue until morning. So the nest may still be uninviting by tomorrow morning

Hi Barbara, not good weather news then. Thanks.
Hi everyone and thank you for starting the thread, Tiger :-)
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. I for one shall worry, it's what I do ;-) But more rational minds are here to rein me in.
I've just watched the Decorah eagles (including 3 adorable chicks) basking in bright sunshine! But now have set up video to record our nest overnight - and I said I was a pessimist! ;-D
Going to try to catch a couple of hours, hoping to wake up and see the nest.
IMAGICAT
Hi RtB, Chloe, Annette, and Barbara.
I remember the nest being covered in snow very early in the 2010 season and EJ was away somewhere more sheltered for some time. Then came back when things looked a bit more presentable.
